Primitive Folk Art Cat-and-Mouse Whirlygig Toy Poughkeepsie 5" dia eachHandmade wooden whirlygig toy featuring a stylized cat lunging toward a concealed mouse mechanism, mounted along a simple horizontal track system. The cat form is crudely cut with exaggerated posture arched forward with extended forelegs capturing a moment of pursuit. A central vertical housing contains the pivoting element, with a small protruding peg and internal wheel suggesting the original wind or push driven action that would animate the chase.
