Pierre Alechinsky. Carta Canta. Histoire after painting Belle-Ile"Until I'm thirty, whenever I can, I'll escape from painting. You run away. Nothing prepares the painter for solitude. He did his apprenticeship surrounded by comrades. But one day, he'll have to go into a cell," stated Pierre Alechinsky in Peintures et crits (Yves Rivire publisher, 1977). His entire work, a universe of constructed, glued, assembled papers, of old papers deafening with an outdated topicality, passes from image to text in the same ink.
