Fowl bluegrass (Poa palustris) is a perennial, sometimes biennial, grass in the Poaceae family. It grows 30 to 120 cm tall. The leaves are thin and linear, often folded lengthwise. Spring flowering produces open panicles bearing small spikelets that range from pale green to purplish. Fowl bluegrass is found naturally in moist to waterlogged soils that are rich in silt or clay.
